I planning to purchase a personal harness for use with fall arrest/restraint systems. I am really skinny and I know from buying rock climbing harnesses in the past I can sometimes have a little bit of trouble getting a good fit when a manufacturer offers a product in only a couple of different size options. I stumbled upon the Sapsis ProPlus Premium harnesses and they seem to meet all my needs (sternum and dorsal d-rings, plenty of washable padding, black, etc) and I like that they have them in 6 different sizes since I feel like I could actually get one that would fit comfortably. I would be getting the size XS with the optional leg padding and additional back d-ring. Anyway, my question is whether anyone has used this or other Sapsis harnesses and has some thoughts to share. I am also choosing between the bayonet and mating buckles and would appreciate some thoughts on pros/cons with those.

Tim's got it, there are some great people at Sapsis.
I've found that grommet/tongue buckles are the easiest to adjust with gloves on.

Thanks for the replies. I'll give them a call. I hadn't even considered the grommet/tongue buckles as they seemed like the would slow down the donning and doffing of the harness compared to the other two types. If I am the only person using the harness, how often will I need to adjust it? I would imagine that with the quick release type buckles the adjustments would be limited to initially after the purchase and the occasional major shift in clothing layers. I'm not sure that I'll have cause to adjust with gloves on but I don't really know. I have only worked with fall arrest systems a couple of times before, though I will be spending considerable time with one every day for a few months soon, thus the planned purchase.

If you're going to spend a full day in your harness, comfort is a major consideration. Petzl makes FA harnesses as well as climbing gear, and our Local riggers seem to like the Navaho BOD model. Don't forget your deceleration lanyard...
I suggest you talk to Sapsis about the Pro Plus Premium. For months of use, paying more up front for a good fit and greater comfort is worth it.

If you're going to spend a full day in your harness, comfort is a major consideration. Petzl makes FA harnesses as well as climbing gear, and our Local riggers seem to like the Navaho BOD model. Don't forget your deceleration lanyard...
I suggest you talk to Sapsis about the Pro Plus Premium. For months of use, paying more up front for a good fit and greater comfort is worth it.

I looked at the Navaho Bod and it looks nice but it is $150 more than the Sapsis offering. I will definitely spend the extra money if that is what it will take to get what I want but I would rather get one that is closer to $200 if I'm still going to be happy with it. I'm giving Sapsis a call tomorrow.

The big advantage to the Petzl Navaho Bod is that it is a combined positioning and fall arrest harness. This means that you can work suspended (from the appropriate attachment points) as well as use it as part of a fall arrest system. If you don't need that capability, the extra cost may not be needed.

I definitely don't need the ability to hang while working. All I will be doing will be walking truss for focus and running a truss spot, both of which require nothing beyond standard fall arrest.
I gave Sapsis a call today and spoke to some guy in the sales department. He was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I ended up ordering an XS ProPlus Premium with the bayonet buckles and added leg padding.
