I seem to have a serial problem where folks sit on my IEM beltpacks and damage the buttons - usually the arrow key buttons. I'm getting tired of sending these in to Sennheiser at $125/each. Does someone know a part number of a compatible replacement switch? I have a damaged pack apart, and they seem to be a 4-pad surface-mount similar to these:

I may buy one and experiment, but would love to see if anyone has been down this road before.

Thanks.

Thanks - it surely looks like it. $2 is a heck of a lot better than postage and a service fee.

I have not contacted Sennheiser about it - I was hoping for a third-party supplier. I may order a few of the parts I linked to on my next Digikey order just for fun - the dimensions seem right, and $.19/each is worth an experiment.

I checked on the Sennheiser site, and that is indeed the right part number - 72512. From Sennheiser directly it is $.73. Thanks again for the pointer.

Sennheiser have acknowledged that the buttons are weak, and have redesigned them, they will upgrade your stpock for a small fee. See pic:

Thanks Jens - didn't know that. I've ordered a few switches, which will give me some SMD soldering practice, but I'll keep the upgrade in mind. Any idea what the cost is to upgrade?

They charge the equivalent to 80USDfor new front+battery cover, and a calibration, -don't know about Sennheiser US.
