I am no longer making the front page on a couple of my local keyword google searches. Any of you web gurus have some tips. I am running a wordpress site and have an SEO plug in. I can see what the exact plug in is but looking to see if there is anything I can do to get bumped up.
Disappointing to see lesser quality services further up on the ranking.

Re: SEO stuff

The search engine developers and the SEO developers are sort of doing battle, so sometimes, a SEO plug in can work against you. All you can do really, is to make sure all the relevant search words appear both in the meta data and fairly frequently in the text (don't overdo, search engines often score sites lower if a word is too frequent.

Re: SEO stuff

I don't think anyone actually uses web sites anymore except to find contact information quickly. I'd make a 1-page site with a really focused message hitting as many points as you can while keeping it short, with your contact info really big at the top of the page. Contact info should be copy+paste-able so if someone clicks it on their phone they can call/email with the link.

Facebook seems to be the place all the interaction happens, such as picture posting, etc. Hard to do interaction on a basic site.

I will look into making the contact info up front as possible. I think lot of my business is created directly off of the website though. Our facebook presence is not really major. I do not deal with that end. Im not on facebook in my personal life so am always surprised how much stuff revolves around that.
