Currently running 4 way. 4 double 18's for subs, 2 double 15's for lows, 4 -10" x 1" mid highs. Ashley Protea Processor, Midas Pro1 console, 2 Lab Gruppen FP 3400 on subs,1 QSC PLX3402 on lows, 1 QSC PLX 3002 on mids and 1 Lab Gruppen FP 2400 on highs. I am still using an analog snake. Last year, I upgraded the sub amps from PLX3402 to the Lab Gruppen FP3400. It made a nice difference in the subs. Not only louder, but warmer. So my thoughts for upgrades would be 2 Lab Gruppen FP 6400 or Midas stage box and digital snake. They would both be in the same price range. Any thoughts on which direction to go that would make the most difference?

we moved - before we went complete active speakers - to all LABs, you'll already heard the difference :thumbup:. when you get a good deal on fp6400, do these first.

did/have you used DLs before? besides the lesser weight on the snake, what advantage will it bring for you?
so by selling the QSCs, which DL will you do - DL251 or DL153?
and don't get cheap on the AES50 cables - we use the original cables on spools since years without a problem :thumbup::thumbup:.

just my 2 cts...

Randy....

We moved to active speakers several years ago and I would not go back! We moved to RCF HDL20s over RCF 8006AS and couldn't be happier all the way around. Quick set up, half as much to move and pack, and great sound. I can have the entire rig up and running in about an hour with one helper...that includes flying the HDLs. I use a DL251 with my Pro 1 for runs to FOH but on larger shows with monitor world, we still use an analog split...stage to split to DL251/monitor desk. I say all this just to say I see your two choices as quite a bit different. One (amps) is based on sound and quality. The second(digital stage box) is based on ease of use and quicker set up. For me, sound quality is number one. I'll get hired and fired based on how it "sounds"......not on ease of use. Although time is money and I love pulling 2 CAT5s off a reel much better than pulling a 48 ch analog snake, the digital snake is more a luxury.

As Klaus says....just my $.02!!
