I got a Roland OctaCapture today but I'm not able to average inputs with it. Anybody else experienced this?

If I set up a New Average in my default TF group, it simply displays nothing on the screen.
If I store a couple of traces, hit More and select Average and try to make an average of my stored traces I get the following message:

"Unable to average the selected traces. Sample rate and FFT size must be identical for traces to be averaged"

AFAIK they are identical, and I can't find any obvious reasons why this doesn't work.
If i remove average from the TF group, I can average stored traces again if I recapture them.

Greeting Helge -
Since you got it today, I am assuming you just need to poke at it a little more. Here are some suggestions where to look:

"If I set up a New Average in my default TF group, it simply displays nothing on the screen.

Have you assigned input pairs to be averaged? When you create a new average, select on it in the meas config and select pairs to be averaged.

In the trace register, select on the two (or more) traces you wish to average, right click, and select "info" - there you can see FFT setting and Sample Rate, verify they match.

If you can average the recaptured traces, that is telling me that at one point you where using different FFT of SR and the new traces are of the same type.

There are active Rational Acoustics Forums. This is perhaps a better place to get a question like this answered in the future.

Take Care!

Forgot that. A bit embarrassing....

They have the same FFT and SR according to their info. But the problem went away as soon as I remembered to pair some inputs.

Will do. And thanks for your help. This was a classic example of operator error, but I needed some input to figure out what I did wrong. Again, thanks :)
