Just thought I'd post here about a Smaart class I'm doing next week in Moncton, NB. I don't get to do classes often on the east coast (last one was about 4 years ago in Halifax, NS), so if you're in the area, you might want to avail yourself of the opportunity!! And the weather should be snow free (finally)!

I'm doing my own little twist to the usual course outline and streamlining a few things:
Day 1 will be covering measurement basics and Smaart DI two channel measurement platform.
Day 2 will be covering more advanced measurement topics and using the full version of Smaart 7.5.
Day 2 in the evening will be a special elective module workshop on subwoofer arrays and mains to sub alignment. Stuff that I used to cover in the morning of day 3 in my previous Smaart classes.
Yes it will be a looong day 2! I'll try my best to make it fun! Lots of hands-on practice with the software on days 1 & 2!
Day 3 will be spent at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton, NB where I will be optimizing a system I designed years ago, that is currently undergoing some upgrades in DSP with added fill and subwoofer loudspeakers. Should be a fun day to follow how I go about optimizing a fixed install sound system.

Any rumors floating around of a SW Ontario session this Spring?

I already badgered Adam Plante when we got the email for the Moncton training, but he didn't know of anything coming up, and 18 hours is a bit of a drive.

Hmmm, seminar in Nebraska, perhaps you should talk to the folk at Rational Acoustics to set something up!! :) I do like Omaha, spent some time there many moons ago on a project!

Spenser, I can't speak for SF Marketing, but I do know that we're overdue for a seminar here in SW Ontario, I can't believe it's been 2 years already, I know a few that have already been asking! I'll see what I can do to get the wheels in motion, usually it's a careful coordination between finding a suitable venue to do the training in that is free a couple days in a row, and finding an empty spot in my crazy schedule. We're also looking to do classes in Western Canada as well very soon. Summer season is coming fast, and everyone will be too busy then!

Thanks Arthur. I also got an email from Adam today, my request is working it's way up the chain there so hopefully someone can find a venue.

I've considered the theatre that I work at, just not sure how many guys would want to take a trek down to small town Chatham. :lol:

Yeah, Chatham is a little bit far of a trek for most here! :) Something is brewing, hopefully we'll have some news soon for Ontario.
