- The system is mostly all new gear, never played out, with the exception of the Sennheiser wireless vocal systems, the Shure IEM systems, and the Ipad. I bought the original Sennheiser wireless mic systems because the G1’s were the best sounding of all the series IMHO. I have set up the system fully twice, to test for capability and for wireless compatibilities, and everything operates flawlessly.
- The system is capable of running up to 11 channels of wireless Tx/Rx simultaneously, so some knowledge of how to set up & operate wireless systems is suggested. The potential for severe interferences is always there, especially in populated areas, but with a little knowledge handling channel selection, the system will operate flawlessly. Also, with the older wireless vocal systems, proper limiting and squelch settings should be in place for the occasional “oops, I accidently turned the mic off” situations.
- The speakers are absolutely amazing. My first full set up with the system was in a 500 capacity rectangle room, with a stage, and it was WAY more than that room needed for my heavy rock band. The subs produce low end like I have never heard before. The tops are crystal clear and articulate, and match flawlessly to the subs. Capable of extreme volumes. Please use with caution as there is a real danger of damaging people’s hearing with these.
- The system is designed to have the FOH rack located on stage near the performers, and controlled via the Ipad from FOH. This allows performers to adjust their own mixes manually, if they don’t have IPhones or IPads. The split snake is right there in the rack for venues with house sound. Another nice thing is that you can simultaneously feed the 6 IEM’s aux mixes, and house/additional stage monitors (not included), through the Shure PSM200’s parallel pass-through jacks. This maximizes the monitor system flexibility for IEM’s, External stage wedges, or both using your saved programs in the Presonus mixer.
- The wireless plug-ins allow up to 4 instrument mics (Guitar/Bass/Ect) to be set up wirelessly so they can be placed and moved easily, and to keep the stage clean. 1 drum snake is the only signal cabling required in this set up. Change overs would be very quick for most acts sharing drum kits. The drum mics are all Nady, which are rugged and sound very good. Our drummer already had Sennheiser, so I didn’t buy more with the exception of the kick drum mic. The Nady’s were intended to be back ups, but they work fantastic, and will provide years of use for even the heaviest drummer.
- The power configuration was designed to be used using two/three 20 amp 120v circuits via wall power, L14-30 plug, or a 50 amp dryer plug. You may need to reconfigure this based on your needs and local codes. The system will easily run on one 20 amp circuit per stack, and one 15 or 20 amp for both the FOH rack & stage stringers.
