Software for live social media at events

Re: Software for live social media at events

I did a AV conference a few months back where we integrated a twitter wall into the event. Originally we used wallofsilver.net but had some issues (would stop updating after a certain amount of time, general clunkiness of the interface), that night I went home and tried a few different services eventually settling on visibletweets.com for the second day. These are both free online services, there are some options that allow you more control over appearance and also the ability to moderate tweets, but they are all general a paid service (which may be worth it for large events).

Next time we won't be placing the Twitter wall so close to the main screen, lesson learned.

Edit: The picture is from the first day when we used WallofSilver.

Probably overkill, but renewed vision's propresenter has a good twitter implementation where you can conform the look and feel to your event somewhat, but it is based around the concept of moderation, so you do need an operator approving messages.
