Im trying to find a cad software to design install layout, i have always used auto cad or visio and started from scratch. But is there something thats a little bit more industry standerd. Im not talking speaker design more room and cable runs with general locations for speakers/console/racks.

Also is there a rack builder software out there?
Thanks

I often use StarDraw. Very easy to use and doesn't require previous CAD knowledge.

I have used StarDraw in the past for cable layout. I really prefer the UI to that of Visio (I really hate the Visio experience). People I work with use VectorWorks ans swear by it. Our standard for rack design is AutoCAD with blocks. There are other packages I have run into during machine designs which are really well made: Zuken E3 was probably the best I have had a chance to use.
