Hoping to draw on the collective wisdom for a soldering station suggestion. I'm working on soldering some 10awg and, while fine for mic cable, the little 60w Weller isn't cutting it. I'm assuming I need something that is 'stiffer' than the Weller, better recovery time. What's the recommendation?

Thanks in advance!

Yes, you'll need a larger iron, or as you've concluded, a decent soldering station. My recommendation for many years is to invest in a
Hakko 936. You can get this station with a small, medium, or large iron. I suspect you'll need the large iron for 10awg work. Lots of tips are available too.

A good value, typically around 80-100USD.

Don't underestimate the importance of the proper tip for the job. 10AWG wire will typically require at least a .1" (2.5mm) tip.

We have a winner. Bought the biggest screwdriver tip I could find and the Weller WES51 is doing fine with 10awg. Thanks all.
