We strongly believe in content over form and are interested in the stories filmmakers have to tell and not the equipment or budget used to do so. Cheap Cuts believes that film should be accessible to all, both sides of the camera. In addition to our screenings, we will also be holding workshops with the local community to encourage and promote documentary filmmaking. Alongside the workshops, we will run several discussion groups/Q&A's and hold at least one masterclass with a renowned documentary filmmaker.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">About You:</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">We are looking for a confident sound tutor or experienced sound field recordist/sound editor with impeccable communication skills and a good knowledge of sound recording for film and/or documentary in particular, to hold our workshop in sound for documentary.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Our idea is to make a practical workshop for documentary filmmakers on a budget. Tips on how to improve their sound recordings and their sound mixes to achieve the best quality on their projects.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Content briefly:</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Field Recording:</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">- Practical use of shot-gun, radiomics, portable recorders. Recording formats, audio levels. Equipment on a budget.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">- Basic Equalization,Basic Noise Reduction,Basic Compression/Limiting.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Please read about our festival before applying - it's really important to us that you understand the ethos of the festival and that this is a project you are able to take on.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #000000"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'">Expenses for the festival dates will be covered. You'll also be fed. You'll receive full credit as Workshop leader and you'll be part of something long lasting.
