They cannot be daisy-chained or linked. MADI is point-to-point only, not a network like Dante is.


Of course if you have a console with multiple card slots, like the Performer, you could run a stagebox on each slot (with a MADI card installed of course).


You do not need to run word clock with the Cat5 MADI; I am not 100% sure on optical MADI though.


The cat5 MADI is a Soundcraft-only thing; it's not supported widely like the Optical or Coaxial MADI standards are.


Advantage of cat5 MADI is mainly cheap cable but the downside is ~300 foot length limit.


Advantage of optical MADI is mainly wider support (for other devices like recording cards) and longer cable runs (over 300 feet is no problem), but the cable is much more expensive.


The Soundcraft mini stageboxes are shipping early May but can be ordered now.
