Today, an hour into worship practice, all audio stopped with the Madi cards flashing SOS on the green LED's. Tried another Cat 6 cable, rebooted MSB and desk, to no avail, so quickly ran the console up to the stage, plugged XLR's directly into the desk, reprogrammed patches, head amp trims and monitor mixes. Ran the gathering off the ipad, and all was OK. After Church, started trouble-shooting. Re-seated Madi cards, tried yet another cat 6 cable, etc. Finally stumbled across the word clock setting in the setup screen. Noticed that word clock set to 'OPTion'. Changed to "INTernal' and viola!, Mini Stage Box locked on with solid green LED. I did the install of the Madi card originally, and do not remember changing the word clock to Option. Am baffled as to why it suddenly changed to Option in the middle of a gig, or if the setting was already on Option, why the link stopped. All is well now. I am posting in case someone else encounters this, and can find my experience on their google search. Anybody have an idea how this could have happened? Does the Madi have an on board clock, or does it depend upon the desk's internal clock? Scott Hicks Portland, OR
