Soundcraft Vi1 VCA Question

Am new to the Vi1 soundboard. When I add input channels to a VCA, the meter above the VCA never shows any levels. Is this normal? How can I get metering to show?

Because VCA's don't have a "level". They are merely remote controls for other things. They are not "groups" or "Busses" that signal will flow through.

Those same faders control Sub Groups and Aux Sends, both of which pass audio and will show on the associated meters. Did you get a manual with the console?

Because VCA's don't have a "level". They are merely remote controls for other things. They are not "groups" or "Busses" that signal will flow through.

To make it complicated some consoles do display the level of the controlled channels... :twisted::blush:
