Speakers produce helicopter like sound

Hi all,

i bought few days ago new PC speakers and i got problem with them now. They sounded fine till today when they started producing constant sound, something like helicopter. What can be the problem? Can someone help me?

Is your cell phone sitting anywhere near them? Try moving it away. Could be the radio transmitter inducing noise into the amplifier.

Nah, it's not mobile phone, this sound different. I figured now what was the problem. I moved subwoofer with amplifier down from table, he was near monitor . Seems somehow monitor interferes with amplifier or something. Didn't know TFT LCD monitors can do that, seems they can. Strange thing is that they worked fine near monitor for a few days. However thank you for the answer.

When i'm here i'll ask one more question. What is best position to place subwoofer, i mean on what position will it sound best? Best option for me is to put it under the table in front of my legs, bit is that good for the sound?

If you don't hang the subwoofer next to your linearray the phase won't line up for every listening position..

In the corner of the room is best. Second best is against a wall.
