I'm new to the forum, so I dont know if this question has been asked yet. What is the best option for splitting signal to monitor console and foh console? I run an all analog system with with 60 available channels into an Allen & Heath GL2400 40 ch. console. I do run patchbays to accommodate the extra 20 channels.

Is this a permanent install, or portable? Patchbays are not something you see often on touring sound.

For analog systems, a physical split is generally what is used. On the most basic level, the signal is just a hardwire split sent to both FOH and monitor. On more advanced systems, you can add transformer isolation between the consoles, and ground lift switches for each. This adds significant cost. For most use with today's gear, transformer isolation is not necessary. If you are splitting a feed to go to an unknown outside source, then the added cost of transformer isolation may be worth it.
