Re: Stereokrauts - Stereoscope - Ipad Remote for Yamaha, Roland and even the DDX3216

Seems nice but is this shareware / freeware? Of does it need to be purchased?
Does not seem clear at the site.

Really? The big Webshop "button" might be a hint.

Okay, Per, I missed the button that converts the price to US currency (and Google didn't get "19,99 C, at least not the way I searched for it).

Any ideas?

You're asking what the prices are in $?
About $27 for version 1.7 and about $47 for the multiclient version2.0

Re: Stereokrauts - Stereoscope - Ipad Remote for Yamaha, Roland and even the DDX3216

I've been using the older version for about a year. Works OK. I built my own custom UI for it using Touch OSC. I found a few bugs in the older version (actually the bugs were in their API, I tried to implement new features not in their GUI), but nothing show stopping.

Screenshots of the default UI are here: Stereoscope Default TouchOSC Layout » Stereokrauts but the channel page is missing and on my Mac they are tiny images, even in gallery mode.

TouchOSC doesn't provide 'pretty' interfaces, just functional ones. Stereokrauts has been working on a new UI based on HTML5, its taking very long.

Youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWeHY5X8t9U&list=PL_43OqtsjTHXLjVgvh3A17Wh3UXpC3WY2. This video doesn't show all the UI,there are 4 or 5 pages of different features.

Very lame marketing, very slow development updates, but it works.

I have never visited a country where, for better or for worse, "customer convenience" - and "the customer is always right, even when wrong" is as evident as the US. It's just the business culture.
I sometimes read posts by people complaining about how impossible it is to find young staff who are able and willing to work hard, especially at stuff like trouble-shooting or solving problems. When I see stuff like this thread I can't help but wonder where these youngsters learn their ways...

PS. The Audiorail site is funny. But the guy running it is top notch:)

Re: Stereokrauts - Stereoscope - Ipad Remote for Yamaha, Roland and even the DDX3216

Here's the UI I built explicitly for the 01V96, based on their APIs. The generic UI has 64 channels, uses different labels for some controls, and I changed the behavior on some controls, e.g. from relative to absolute or vice versa, depending on what felt best to me and to avoid jumps in audio. I documented what doesn't work (but should work) directly in the UI. I'm happy to share my UI file, just email markamcfarlane via hotmail

Being in my senior years I gave the site a quick look in the early morning and without my glasses missread Webshop and thought it said Webshots. My bad.
"Purchase" or "Buy Now" is a little more normal and I was looking for that. After the kind responses I just won't buy it.

+1.

From the same guy running around bashing every measurement program but his pet program. Maybe you guys will learn that your badmouthing isn't helping the programs' popularity. And sorry if my inability to determine the price wrecked your day.

I'm sorta interested (a little more sorta when they release a version for the CL5), but trust me, Stagemix doesn't suck. However, I'm gonna give a look, no thanx to you guys.

Thanx, Per. What currency was that listed on the site? Such as "19, 99 C"?

Thanx again,

I could of course apologize for my flippant remark, and I'm regretting not ending the remark with a ;)~;-)~ , but honestly guys, if this is how you make purchasing decisions. Staying away from a product because someone on a forum made a remark that could be taken as being offensive??????

Its the sign for Euros, the main monetary currency in Europe, with close to 400 million users in 17 countries.
Its actually a €, not a C. Kinda like dollars is an $, not a S, or the sign for UK pounds is £, not an L.

Yeah, I just heard two harsh remarks about samurais and ninjas on a gaming forum, I guess that CL5 purchase is off the books :D

For my day job I work with people who have physical and metal disablities. After a few years of training one realizes that there are many ways to answer to what we do right or wrong in life.

To "Apologize" is to admit wrong doing and make amends to friends, coworkers or even someone you don't know.
"Sally I'm sorry I stuck the pea in your ear"

To "Divert" is to change the subject in such a way as to make the person with the "Pea in her ear" the one who is wrong.
"I'd apologize to Sally but she is dumb and made me do it. If she didn't have a hole in her head she never would have a pea in it"

There is also an old saying "Guilt by Association" Thorsten Bunz said after just 14 post" Yeah thats the way to go guys." It does sound, at least to me and I may be wrong, that he knows the people who run the company. In <General> people who know each other and hang out together share the same values. He also stated:

""Really Guys - thats all - you couldnt - look around at a website - find the Webshop Button think that 35Euro could be around 30Dollar.
Grab the Full Funkton Demo - setup your MIDI PC dock it at Your Desk Grab Your Ipad and Play with it.

Supported Features » Stereokrauts ""

Looking at the response without rose colored glasses (I) read it as " Really, your so dumb you can't see the button and covert the price over to US dollars?"

Another way to look at it is if I see a post that says "Way to go guys a Danley Sound Labs with a new Product X" I go to the web page and didn't catch the Buy it Tab. I ask about it and Ivan Beaver says "Really? The big Webshop "button" might be a hint."
I would not look into the product any farther. ( This would never happen and its only an example )

To sum this up a product is only as good as its overall history, the person or persons selling it, and the friends behind them that speak highly of the product and share the same values. Call it the friend network if you will.
I do consider what people say about a product and treat people when they ask a question when they appear to know the person (s) who are selling the product. They are together by Association.

Do I think you should Apologize? How do you feel about it?

Douglas R. Allen

To Ivan Beaver and the great people over at Danley Sound Labs. I hope you will take my example as light hearted and fun as that was how it was intended. I have a great respect for the people behind Danley and the products that they sell!

Re: Stereokrauts - Stereoscope - Ipad Remote for Yamaha, Roland and even the DDX3216

Do I think you should Apologize? How do you feel about it?

I guess that was implied in my previous post. If you want an apology, I hereby apologize for making a flippant remark.
How I feel about it was also implied in my previous post. Honestly I'm slightly offended that my replies, that both were actually informative would result in what I can easily take as personal attacks. Furthermore I feel bad about being held responsible for someone not buying a product that they might want and possibly need because I'm unable to keep my quips to myself.
Will it ruin my day? Doubt it!
