A clients X 32 started making loud digital sounding noises out of all the busses which seemed to be triggered by a vocals channel being turned up. I have never encountered anything like this and did not hear it myself. Anyone experience anything like this?

Never heard/saw that one yet. I've had pops/clicks from having the sync set to wrong clock setting. - but nothing like that...analog snake or digital snake? Ups on it? (that kicks over to battery in well under 20ms)

X32rack...no snake...proper UPS. This is a band I usually mix but they were doing it themselves.

John, ALL of the buses, or all the buses in use? By chance was the vocal on a wireless mic?

Can you replicate the problem in your shop? I can't think of anything that would make a whole bunch of stuff freak out from just turning up vox mics. Is there a chance that pink noise got routed to a vox group?

If something with the console was globally fubar I'd expect it to manifest no matter what input was turned up; if there's a problem with an individual channel it's another story.

Have you called BerryCare in LV?

We tried everything we could replicate yesterday. I wasn't there so I am clueless. I have a date with them Sat so I will bring my X32R as a spare.

They said it was digital noise? Have everyone put their cell phones where they were when the noise started. Maybe? Maybe not?
