Hi Guys, I've been working in my mostly analog studio since just after the Jurassic period and seems I've
really got my moneys worth from most of the components. Today when I powered up, I got every sign of life..
levels on the machine, levels on the board (Allen & Heath ZED436) and no sound! Did the usual checks and finally
broke out the headphones and there it was. So looks like the mons. My Event 20/20's are quite old and I have no
manual but I guess this is the problem. Last session I did inadvertently spike them probably to square wave so now I'm wondering
about how to proceed.
My question is are there any tests I can do to determine if it's time to send them out to Orange County Speakers (used them in the past
on other speakers and great results) I guess I could try another amp but very wary of matching up to these high powered mons and not
good at understanding specs for amp/speaker etc..
At least I have the phones but not my choice. The Events are so great I need them back soon!
Any responses greatly appreciated.. My SC page if you'd like to hear my work ::: https://soundcloud.com/morgan-chambers-10

One way to do it i guess is to push on the woofer and see if it goes in and out if you hear a small bit of noise on the inside then the voice coil may be damaged , Or if it doesn't move at all it's time for a new woofer. If it does move without any noise then you might try looking at the crossover and see if anything is damaged.

Yea it has to be the co because the woofs look and feel just perfect.. I'll do some more checking ans see what I can find.. thnx

I don't Know if they will have fuses in them but check the crossovers and see if they are fuse loaded. It could be just a fuse, I had a problem with my FOH speakers one time and that was what it was and it worked perfect after that.
