Re: SuperBowl by the Numbers

Rob,

This is cool run down. The projection mapping was really impressive. I was thinking that somewhere folks at Barco or Christie were smiling wide. Flying by Foy always does impressive work. Flying talent live in that kind of environment is a serious impressive (and ballsy) activity.

Re: SuperBowl by the Numbers

I too was impressed by the flying. Having to explain to my mother why I was so seriously concerned during her entire flight was certainly interesting. Even though I know what they do to keep her safe and trust in Foy, knowing what could happen, it bothers me deeply.

Great Thread Rob. I shared it to my Facebook wall, the haters were out in full force last night and most of them don't have the slightest clue what goes into a production like that.

My feed went beyond that, and into the conspiracy that the NFL is staged and rigged.
I think one GIF on Grantland should put that thought to rest.

Re: SuperBowl by the Numbers

Your feed sounds even more tiring than my feed.

Condolences to the family, must be tough to lose someone who was just out doing what they love.

For those who don't know, Ryan Lipman was one of the upriggers working on the Super Bowl show in Arizona. Ryan was a diabetic and had a diabetic episode while in the grid. He attempted to climb down but unfortunately lost consciousness and fell before he was able to get all the way down.

By all accounts Ryan was a huge champion of safety. He was wearing his harness and always clipped in when working. This was just an unfortunate accident and a reminder to all of us that this is a dangerous business to work in.

Although i didn't know Ryan, my condolences go out to his family in this difficult time.
