Folks,

I need a couple of NiMH or lead acid to run a small DC water pump intermittently, with charging done between cycles via solar.

Does anyone have a source the recommend for the surplus packs, like the ones you find inside a UPS?

Thanks!

Re: Surplus NiMH or lead acid battery source

most industrial surplus stores carry the backup deep cycle gel-cell batteries used by automation systems as a backups for pretty cheap. They seem to go for around $50 to$60 as opposed to the $230 that grainger wants for them.
