Here we go again. I'm in a 3000 cap seated room looking to specify a new PA. The best Pa for the job is IMO a 3 point mono system.
BUT the room wants to do bands.
The room is going to want to get rental on their PA. So the L/R line system (or something like the D&B Vi12) is going to be the best rig for the gig (IMO again).. but the coverage will be mediocre at best. This comes down to the room wanting audio rental. They fear if they have a installed system that is not as up to spec with the top line sources.. that their customers will opt to still rent in their own pa.. and thus negating their ability to pay for a new system.
What are your thoughts:
As a touring band would you prefer the mediocrity of a L/R linesource vs a mono 3 point hang? How does this translate in the real world?
