Re: The "official" cabinet finishing threadI've used flat black latex paint as a base coat - has worked pretty well so far. This has been with both new (unpainted) and refinished (sanded down) surfaces. No complaints about the latex as the base coat, but rolling the Duratex vs spraying seemed to net in a more even result and use significantly less product.
