They always nickel and dime me on what they pay for, so they usually supply mics for backup singers. The band leader said "wow, we get the good mics".  After reading this thread I almost laughed out loud.  Bottom line is the 58 had good gain before feedback, sounded good and felt fairly familiar. They decided they need to pony up the $20 extra and rent my "real mics" each time.</blockquote>
