From 5:30 to 7:20. He's saying that the level you send an EQ will affect the effect of the EQ, just checking in case I've missed something.

Signal to noise ratio aside, it looks like he misunderstands the dB scale and equal loudness contours might be reinforcing that.

Yeah, he's pretty much wrong on that. There might be some minor differences at different levels, but for all practical purposes, no.

If what he is saying was correct (which it is NOT-he is COMPLETELY WRONG) then it would not matter whether the eq was inserted or placed after the output of the console.

Somehow he seems to think that if the input meter is not working-then niether is the eq-NOT.

It is amazing how many people make videos and book about sound and yet they are so wrong-and then you end up with the falsehoods being passed around as fact.

No wonder our industry is so screwed up.

Yeah but it makes it so much easier to ask for money after you magically fix what was wrong.
