Re: Tim Duffin Spinoff: Online Forums are Worthless (Was: Carvin Line Array In Stock) I'm mostly a lurker on these forums, but I felt compelled to respond to this particular thread. Tim- I work in software technical support, and I find online forums to be invaluable. There really is no better way for a customer to communicate an issue, have it resolved, and have the whole process displayed to all of your members. Forums help us find bugs, track them, and squash them. I understand that this is not the normal context of the forums that you participate in, but forums also help us discover what our customers really want, and how they want it delivered. I'm sure that there are other "lurkers" out there from other product/service companies that monitor these forums for criticism of their products, so they can make their products better. It seems that any thread you participate in just turns into a flame-war, and everyone is so discouraged by you that they just give up and walk away from the thread. So, in reality, you are the one making the forums useless by turning people away from them. PS- I was deeply saddened to discover that you are an Eagle Scout, shame on the person who gave you that honor. It's pretty obvious that you are not Helpful, Friendly, or Courteous.
