Re: Tim Duffin Spinoff: Online Forums are Worthless (Was: Carvin Line Array In Stock) Hmm yeah. I have learned probably about half of what I need to do to pull off a concert these days from online resources, and have been an "enthusiast" since about the mid 70's (about 15 y.o.). You could say online forums helped me to revamp my overall knowledge from the late 90's to now. The other half from personal experience and from working with professionals and musicians much bigger than myself. But yeah, most of the time these days I run in "cruise control" and am overkill for most of the smaller operations I get involved in. Forums like this are something we didn't have though before the late 90's. These days, guys with little or no experience can benefit from "fly-by-wire" use of online forums, although nothing will replace actual experience in the end. All the forums can do is point you in the right direction. Then it is up to you to learn. I am sure you will find a well-moderated forum is more worth your while, but with this group - and one other one I can think of - it is not even an issue. So what was your original point?
