Tonight will be the first time out wiht my Pro1.I think I have enough knowledge to get through anything that might happen.Any last minute tips are appreciated. Wish me luck.

Biggest thing that "catches" me is patching and making sure I've "turned on" things. Coming from the Yamaha world, having to turn on the ST button, and turn on the Sends always slipped by me until I got used to it.

Made it through.You're right David,had a few things that weren't working because they wern't patched,but go them sorted out and it went pretty well.I have to think alot more with this board than with analogue. My brain was working overtime!

3 gigs in and I fell into the comfort zone; hopefully it will be similar for you. Another tip is the dimming of the lights on buttons - this can be set in preferences. If you find some of the buttons at the top of the console hard to see (daylight or console too high up so angled surface is aimed above your head) then turn up brightness a bit.

Here's some thoughts on my first night. Make sure you are very familiar with the console before taking it out. My biggest fear is that I wouldn't have audio,but once I had sound comming out of my mains I knew I would be ok..If you run into a problem,stay calm.Think! It is usually because something isn't patched or something isn't turned on.It's a big difference going from analogue to a Pro1.First,you don't have knobs for everything so you are hitting buttons to get from one place to the next.The good thing is, the Pro1 is very fast.I lay out the mixer by having my first 8 faders as vocals and guitars since that is where most of my adjustments are made.My second 8 faders are normally my auxes for wedge,ears and effects returns.But you can easily get to the next 8 channels by hitting the extend button.Now you have 16 channels on the faders at your finger tips.To turn on or adjust,eq,gates or compressors,just hit the channel button and a seperate screen shot pops up on the right side of the screen.There are dedicated knobs right next to the display,so that is just like making adjustments on an analogue consoles.One thing I wish Midas would do,is getting rid of the (monitor) fader to the right of the main fader and move the main fader to that spot.Then use the aditional space for some more dedicated knobs.I'm not sure I would ever use that fader so why have it? At this point I feel I have the basics down.Midas has great customer support but one thing they need, and have told me is on the way are some on line training videos specific to the Pro1.The manual is 550 pages long and not very well written.The quick start guide is useless.The videos they now have on line are old.Most of them just show you features,not how to do things.These consoles have been out for awhile so it's time to get these new videos out for the users.
