When Biamped I now that the EV QRX112 can get very lound and still sound pretty good to my ear. IMO what puts the EV ahead is (like Vinny said) the horn is a great driver and just sounds good, they make GREAT monitors or SOS systems, Horn is rotatable, Biamp OR passive, less than 60lbs, flyware is built in and they sound pretty darn good. On the Turbosound, I like the Idea of the TCS612 as a compact(ish) 3 way box, with flyware built in. Its older, weighs more at 70bs and is bi amp only (which I dont mind but can be rough in low power areas). How readily available are any parts if you do need them? All this being said I have always enjoyed working with any Turbosound system I have been on (minus the guitar center line they had for a while). Their newer stuff is fantastic. I worked in a club with a floodlight rig for 3+ years that sounded damn good and never had an issue. I currently own some Turbosound Milan powered boxes and could not be happier. If I could find at least 4 TCS612 and a processor Id buy into them for smaller gigs with 1 or 2 per side but being that they seem hard to find they would just be 2 odd boxes in the inventory. Again its mostly my opinion but I hope some of the info may help.

Here are some numbers from the sheets:

Turbo TCS612

Sensitivity LF: 98db 1 watt @ 1m (avg)

Sensitivity MF/HF: 103db@ 1m (avg)

Max SPL 125db cont 131peak

EV QRX112

Sensitivity 98db 1 watt @ 1m

Max SPL 131db 1m (calc)

Here are the spec sheets too:

ftp://ftp.turbosound.com/datasheets/legacy_products/tcs612.pdf

Electro-Voice QRx 112/75 12-inch two-way full-range loudspeaker
Re: Turbosound TCS-612 This thread made me look up the TCS612s several times today. I did some comparing and thought maybe it would help, I have no experience with the TCS612 and you may have likely looked all this up already but here goes. Im with Vinny, I looked up the spec sheet and they look like they would be some good sounding boxes but at least on paper they dont seem that loud. According to the EV QRX112 the numbers in sensitivity continuous and peak are nearly identical. I dont know how either were actually measured. Again its mostly my opinion but I hope some of the info may help. Here are some numbers from the sheets: Turbo TCS612 Sensitivity LF: 98db 1 watt @ 1m (avg) Sensitivity MF/HF: 103db@ 1m (avg) Max SPL 125db cont 131peak EV QRX112 Sensitivity 98db 1 watt @ 1m Max SPL 131db 1m (calc) Here are the spec sheets too: ftp://ftp.turbosound.com/datasheets/legacy_products/tcs612.pdf Electro-Voice QRx 112/75 12-inch two-way full-range loudspeaker
