Once the U2 show wraps on July 30th, they are evidently going to sell the "claw" stage(s). For anyone involved in sound, lighting, video, or staging, these structures really have to be seen in person. Its fantastically cool engineering. Personally, I want one for football tailgating :D~:-D~

Link to the site and PDF brochure.

Interesting details from the PDF:

Footprint is approx 40m x 60m
Central roof area is approx. 23m x 16m
It is almost 22m to the bottom of the roof steel
4 day installation time
185 ton load bearing capacity

I agree, it's pretty cool. But I can't help feeling that it is such an excess which is a real irony since the band is pretty "pc". I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.

That video was amazing... it was sad at the end to see them tear it down. So much work goes into such a brief moment of entertainment.

I will take the claw if it includes the screen!
That screen looked great at 7pm in broad daylight.

Right now I have a 60" Pioneer Plasma in a 12' x 18' x 8' living room.
I may need to buy the old silver dome to find a place where I can watch Netflix?

It would make a great baby gym for a really big baby...

You know, this is brilliant on their end. It takes this stage and makes it a lasting icon in the entertainment industry. And not only that, but I bet they'll probably sell them for more than what it cost to make them and end up turning a profit on them. Just my 2 cents.

Like the Popmart staging? Nah... they never made any profit from those pieces when they were finished with the Tour.

Yeah, big lemons and martini glasses... I'm guessing that some amusement park will purchase it and design an amusement ride around it....perhaps the World's largest Airplane ride...or, the World's largest teeter-taughter... give the little tykes some REAL excitement!
