Is that the amp rack front and center? Yah, I've heard it is very important to do that to get a balanced sound out of your pile'o'crap PA - or maybe they were afraid it would be crushed when the "trusses" crash down?
Oh man, I just noticed the Kustom columns used as monitors  - although I did use one like that in the late 70's  .
I'm hoping the talent matched the care that was put into the production or else I'd have to feel bad for the artists.
Do you think the provider was called "Shaggs Pro Audio" or "Foot Foot and Friends?"
I wonder if they thought that up on their own, or is it perhaps a clone of that one on Craigslist, you know the one, I thought I saved the pic but can't find it now.
Boy. Supertramp could have used that rig to support the "Crime of the Century" album. Hell, they even had a ladder on the cover !!
(But that was almost 40 years ago, back when we were all so much smarter than today.......)
*edit* OK, so it was a grill of some sort, not a ladder. But the first thing that came to my mind was "Holy Shit. That's gotta be the Crime of the Century to set a stage like that"
They kinda spoiled the effect by using commercial stage - sheets of plywood on stacked milk crates would have better complemented the "vibe" they were going for .
