Re: What songs do you tune your PA with ? I'm a wee bit behind the times, but I just discovered this forum, so please forgive. 1. Pink noise generated in ElectroAcoustics Toolbox to make sure my zones are all working 2. LCRS Test from the Bink Audio Test CD 3. Joss Stone - Free Me; her vocal is very percussive, so it helps me get a feel for the reflections in the room 4. John Mayer - Assassin; that usually gets me to where I'm happy I picked up America Baby and Walking In Memphis from the guy I worked under my first three years in the field. Other than that, it's usually Africa by Toto, or something off of Thriller. I mix a lot of a cappella groups, so if I'm doing that or a corporate gig and have lots of talking, I'll pull out some Acappella or Zoe Group; I know a lot of those group members and engineers personally, so that helps. Once the room's EQ'ed, I use the vocal off the multitrack for Heard It Through the Grapevine and Bohemian Rhapsody to tweak my reverb. I'll throw some generic rock stuff (usually GNR) on at the end, part for my pleasure and part for tweaking. If I'm doing a pop concert, I'll throw on an MP3 of Adam Lambert or Black Eyed Peas, since that's what the kids will be used to hearing.
