My wife picked up 2 at a yard sale for $50 and felt like she was doing me a huge favor.
Anyway now that your done laughing, i have not been a DIY guy up to this point, (and dont plan to become one) even though my dad owned a cabinet shop for years and i have everything i need. So is there anything i can do with these to put them with a B-rig to put some K12's over for my sons band or a cheap system to rent out to the local bar band?

Are you having a yard sale of your own anytime soon? $60

You could always stick better drivers in, but the box is MDF and is tuned to 55Hz, not great. Given this you are probably better to invest the cost of new drivers into something else, or build your own box.

I think the best thing you can do is maybe just test them and clean them up a bit. If you're just looking to add a bit of bottom for your son's garage band, there shouldn't be anything to stop these from doing and ok job. The carpet on some of those older Peavey cabs can get a bit funky over time, but there is no shortage of discussion on this forum about refinishing cabinets with more modern finishes. If the drivers are in good shape, clean the outsides up and you're off to the races.

If you're wife is willing to pull over for a yard sale, part with $50 and wrestle a pair of subs into her car for you... You've already used up all of your good luck... so the subs are probably totally roached, but the wife is a keeper :?~:-?~:???:

The wife is a keeper for sure, being that she also told me i could spend 3 grand on a console to replace my gl2000 after the new year :)

The driver is blown in 1 of them so looks like i will be spending something on them anyway. Any suggestions on replacements?

Replace with the factory basket, it's easy. I used one for a drum sub for quite a while, removed all the crossover stuff and put in an NL4 pass through panel. And de-Peavey'd it. Looked OK without all the gaudiness, no drummers complained that it didn't thump.
