Where do studio pros and others go for vintage backline?

Where do commercial recording studios go for their vintage backline? Does anyone know of a SoundBroker/HTICS/Solaris type broker specializing in such things, particularly where there is some history along with just the electronics?

Reason for asking is trying to figure out a way to establish a market value (and hopefully sell) a fairly unique vintage guitar head (1976-77 Music Man HD-130, heavily modified for a fairly well known group's lead guitarist for use on a 1977 tour as well as numerous studio appearances since...)

Thanks for any ideas... all the producers out there looking for a specific sound or piece of gear must have a community of some sort... this piece has been living on doing what it was designed to do for my few years with it but as of late is mostly sitting in a road case, unappreciated...

When you find a way to sell that old dinosaur for the big bucks let me know the secret. I've got several vintage items that would love to live in a nice new McMansion and be driven around the block by a friendly 1%er.

'70s MusicMan amps, being a solid state preamp with tube output design, aren't in great demand on the used market - unlike the '50s and '60s and early '70s non master-volume Fender amps, for instance.

I've had a few dealings with these guys:

Used & Vintage MI

I've only bought studio equipment from them, but they seem to deal in backline as well. Not sure how much value would be left for you once they take a commission though.

Just took a spin around the vintage amp part of the site and enjoyed seeing the tweed Pro. Glad to see they're not afraid to ask for money on that one as they are pretty hard to find. They don't have any truly desirable Fender blackface types. One day I'll join the modern world and learn to eBay. I've got old cork sniffer vintage guitar junk that I'm tired of hanging on to but don't wanna give away. SRO's - Altecs - BFSR - BFTR - etc.
