Where's the GLD info?

I'm disappointed that there's been nothing additional revealed now that the "world debut" has happened. There's not a single video, or even comment I've read from anyone who's seen the thing, or any more manufacturer releases. Where's the buzz?

Specifically I'd like to know if there's a way to get De-Esser functionality, whether an EtherCon type cable is included with the system, thoughts about physical construction, etc.

Yes, there are 3 snake options, all Ethercon. 80', 240', and 396'.

Now that it's been released, detail questions are likely assumed to be answered by local dealers.

I've been there, and it's by far the best info available. According to the brochure, no De-Esser is listed. On the big ILive, it's in the Limiter section, not the Dynamics page (not sure why), and it appears that the GLD is missing the limiter section. I really hope that's implemented in another place - possibly the effects section as you mention, but I'm not hopeful, unfortunately.

Another thing that are not disclosed are whether there is computer/IPad control available yet. The brochure hints that it's not ready yet - something about the Ethernet port for future use I think.

Hands-on demos? Real-world experience from a long-known, trusted source? The latter can be found with time and careful searching, but isn't automatic. After sale support ("who did you purchase from? Call them.")? Taking an end-user idea, and finding a better/lower cost/etc way to provide the full capabilities? The internet age is another (lower?) level of human interaction that is very fast and convenient, but it won't replace real world.

I agree that the internet age has made it harder for local companies to stay in business, but it hasn't replaced them, nor will it. There are a number of manufacturers out there now that are clamping down on the negative consequences of the internet, to allow good dealers to thrive.

Well, hands on demos etc are great with real people somewhere close by. What I was referring to was that this is a technical oriented product being marketed en-masse on the internet. Technical details should probably be available the same way. And, I rarely investigate pro-sound products the way I used to go look at guitars in the store 20 years ago. I guess you have a dealer that has the low down that you trust?

In this case I think we just need to wait a little bit for AH documentation to catch up with their big ideas.
