am on a budget and would love some help on deciding which power amp has more power,an ep4000 or and cv2800,i know on paper the cv2800 seem better but does this amp really push out these watts

Going to go with Neither in this case.. Maybe look into Peavey IPR, or PV series amps.. I think both will serve you better than either of these 2 choices..

Re: which power amplifier is better

Everyone is 'on a budget' What exactly does that mean?

When looking at amps more money gets you 4 things.

1. New - used is cheaper, of course. I'd much rather have a used quality amp than a new piece of shit.
2. Robustness. Cheaper power amps will really show their weakness when the AC supply starts to fluctuate.
3. Efficiency. It costs more to efficiently turn the power from the wall into power for your speakers. This may not be a huge concern, but if you're at the verge of tripping a breaker, it could make a huge difference.
4. Weight savings. While there are now some low cost light weight amps out there, the quality ones still command a decent price. The amps you listed weigh in at 40lbs or so. The budget savings of those amps versus back surgery is a no brainer.

What speaker(s) do you plan to power with this amp? In your price range, I would consider getting a used QSC RMX amplifier.
