I have the opportunity to buy my first decent system, i am brand new so excuse me for sounding dumb. Just looking to see which would be better sounding and better value for the money

The first
Ev system
2 - Qsc Plx-1804, 2 - Ev Qrx 212 and 2 Ev xi-1191.

Second
A yorkville system
2 - elite E2152, 2 - elite LS800P , 1- crown 3600 macro for the 2152-s, the subs are powered

They are both going for the same price

I have a pioneer jbm 600 mixer to go with either.

It will be for personal use, I have a large shop and for a few outdoor parties.
I know both are probably overkill but I'm good with that.
Thanks !

Being so new I wasn't sure which forum would have higher activity, definitely going newer and self powered, maybe with some of your recommendations 👍

You would be well served to look here:
and here

As I understand it, there is flat rate freight, and you can almost guaranteed get a better price by putting together a system and asking for a discount.

And the system will still have resale value if you decide to turn it over in a few years. The other boxes, not so much.

An external processor/EQ would be recommended, but not mandatory out of the gate. If you plan on running the rig towards its limits, then yes - you'll need some upstream "help".

EDIT to add: The Meyer boxes also come with (free) prediction software, as well as excellent manufacturer support and in-country distributor support from Gerr Audio. I can't say the same from the EV or Yorkville systems.

Thanks for the links, actually very reasonable would be less than the kw even with shipping and exchange rate

These prices are in usd... i got ahold of someone at solotech and they are available, will be over 4k , but in very tempted to do it after all the reviews I have read , just wondering how beat up they actually are

I'd make them an offer. I know a couple other folks that have recently bought multiples of boxes, and they're willing to deal a bit.

In general, they're older boxes so they won't be mint condition. But Solotech is a rental company so they won't be damaged, and I'm pretty sure they warranty all their used gear for at least 30 days - it may be longer. But the up side is that the boxes are not carpeted. If you're really concerned, a week of 1-2 hours in the shop in the afternoon with some bondo, flat black latex paint, and a gallon of Duratex and they will look brand new - the ambient temperature and humidity will determine how long it takes. Example attached (and yes, the grilles were powder coated). :-)

Looks great!!

With those meyers, would i be good with 1 650p sub and 2 upa or would I need 1 sub per side? And if I only had one sub how would I set it up , sub in the middle and the upa close by one on each side?
Or could they all be separated wherever?
What if I wanted to suspend the speakers, sub would still stay on the ground?
Thanks!

It will "work" with a single sub. If you want some elevated LF response, do 1:1 sub to top ratio - you'll get about a +6 to +8 dB rise in the low end with 1:1. The easiest setup would be to stack one UPA on one sub. it's a little low in height, but it will work. There is also free software to predict what the system is capable of here:

The subs are not flyable - they will live (and be most efficient) on the ground. The UPAs are flyable with minimal hardware - rated shackles and aircraft cable. Or, if you buy the MYA-UPA yoke from Solotech, even less hardware. If you have never flown a loudspeaker, please ask for professional help. If you do it wrong, it can kill someone.
