I have honestly never been able to understand this.... There are mics that will easily clip the input at minimum gain.

It used to drive me insane but thankfully I haven't had to use one in a while.

IIRC the Venice also had no pads but I never seemed to have such an issue with clipping on those.

I have been wondering that for years. Buy/make some and add them to your arsenal…it never hurts to have them. I recommend no more than 20dB…switchable can be nice, too.

Other than that lack of feature, the GB-series consoles are a very close competitor to A&H's GL-series boards.

Going to buy some Monday. Console works very well except for that one issue..

It didn't clip that hard, but it would have been better with a pad..
