Wireless headphones & Bus audio

Common problem on our (full) bus. Some people want to watch a movie or tv show, others want to talk. Not enough room for like minded people to move to separate lounges (back one is usually taken over by PS3...)
So, I was thinking about wireless headphones. Everyone has an iPhone so I figured there should be a way to transmit the audio to each person's phone so they can listen to the show.
I've looked into Bluetooth transmitters, but it seems like iOS doesn't support operating as a Bluetooth audio receiver.
I checked out LAN streaming, and this can be done with software like airfoil, but that requires a computer to be a transmitter.
I've looked into standalone airplay transmitters, but haven't found anything.

Anyone ever looked into doing something like this and found a decent and cheap solution?

If you're touring with IEMs, you could use them with or without battery eliminators.

Heck, you could probably find a used assisted listening system for pretty cheap.

:-)

Well, I was't sure what you had at your disposal...

Sometimes an external perspective can bring clarity. And it doesn't hurt if it saves you money AND it sounds great.

Don't iPhones have FM tuners? or is it just the ipods?
wouldn't be very expensive to pop in an FM transmitter.
