Hey all! I am new to this forum. I apologize if this is not in the correct spot, but I need some help!

At a banquet hall near me, I have been asked to come in and look at their sound system because they have been having issues.

They have a brand new Pyle Pro wireless mic system, they used to have a Shure, and the volume for the mic is horrible. It was with the old one also.

They can have music playing from a XM Satellite system and it works fine. But, when you try to uyse the mic, it is extremely muted. I have changed it out with other wireless mics, I have changed the input from an xlr to 1/4" jack, tried to the mic/line button, changed channels that it is on the Rane mixer, I checked the phantom power, but to get any volume from the mics, you have to crank up the line in volume, mic volume and overall system volume.

I know that this might be pretty vague, but is there something that I could be missing.

I have taken the mic out of the system and tried it on a portable one and the mic works great. It is not placement or anything, it is just no matter what mic or channel I use the volume is extremely muted. I have tried everything I can think of.

Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it!

Re: Wireless Mic Help

Hi Michael - welcome to the forum. It sounds like you need more gain into the Rane mixer. Having the mic receiver set to line output should help. What model mic and what model mixer are they? Is there an output level knob? Does the Rane mixer have microphone input channels or only line-level channels?

Re: Wireless Mic Help

Some mics have an output adjustment level. Usually recessed and adjusted with a "jewelers" screwdriver. Sound like a mic line issue though since you mentioned it worked fine on another setup. Try plugging a sm58 straight in and see what level you get.
Model numbers you are working with would help.
