Wiring Shure WL185 to EV beltpack

Hey All,
I'm trying to rewire a shure WL185 lav mic to work with an EV RE-2 beltpack. What I am not sure about is which +5v bias pin to connect the WL185 to. The EV pack has 2 options. Pin 3 has a +5V bias, and Pin 4 has a +5v bias through a 3K resistor.

I looked in the user manual for the Shure ULX series and it appears that Shure feeds their bias voltage through a 500 ohm resistor right before the TA4 connector. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hey All,
I'm trying to rewire a shure WL185 lav mic to work with an EV RE-2 beltpack. What I am not sure about is which +5v bias pin to connect the WL185 to. The EV pack has 2 options. Pin 3 has a +5V bias, and Pin 4 has a +5v bias through a 3K resistor.

I would double check this with EV, as I didn't find quite enough about how they wired their inputs. But, wire the Shield of the WL185 to pin 1, Red to pin 3, and Black to pin 2. Then tie a 20k resistor from pin 2 to pin 1. (The 20k provides the bias for the Shure's impedance converter.)

I looked in the user manual for the Shure ULX series and it appears that Shure feeds their bias voltage through a 500 ohm resistor right before the TA4 connector. Any ideas? Thanks!

That 500ohm resistor is just there for a bit of filtering. It doesn't do much else.
