X32 and Single S16 Help

I got the S16 in yesterday and tried using it today. The inputs are working great, but I don't have any outputs on the S16. I have googled all I know to google, but can't seem to find the answer. On the videos, when you go to the XLR out tab, they show outputs 1-4, 5-8, 9-12, and 13-16. My compact only shows 1-4 and 5-8. In the out 1-16 tab it has asterisk by 9-16, and tells me to check the XLR outs. I want to use the local 1-8 out and use 9-16 out on the S16. Can anyone give me some help. Thanks in advance.

Goto the routing and then the aes50a page
On outputs 1-8 scroll to the bottom and you'll see a selection called
Out 1-8. Set it to that

So even though I'm using outs 1-8 on the board, I still select 1-8 on the S16 and it will route it to 9-16?

If you look at the pic Shane posted you'll see that you're patching AES signals to outputs. Because the S16 only has physical outputs 1-8, you'd select "Out 1-8" from the SECOND column, which concerns itself out the console virtual outputs 9-16. The confusing nomenclature now helps me understand why Yamaha uses the word "OutPort" to describe the physical XLR outputs of the mixer (and any associated processing that is physically dedicated to those OutPorts).

Thanks for the help guys. I finally got it figure out last night. Now if I could only figure out how to make Reaper work. haha:x~:-x~
