Re: X32 V2 firmware I was looking at my old Behringer DDX3216 facilities the other day and there are a few minor and some major things that this did that I would like to see included in V2. 1. The ability to A/B settings for EQ, Dynamics and effects 2. Improvement of copy and paste facility - in the DDX software a copy of selected parameters could be made from one channel to multiple channels in one go by selecting the source channel the parameters to copy and then finally all the destination channels 3. Saving to external media ( in the case of the DDX this was a flash card but for X32 USB) - all the desk settings or subsets thereof. Currently with the X32 you can save a scene or a show but this will not encompass any preset libraries. I may have missed it but with presets you only seem to be able to save individual ones - it would be nice to be able to save a whole library. 4. Concerning pre-sets - though you can configure what elements can be saved to an individual preset - it would be useful to (also) have separate libraries for especially EQ and dynamics - at the moment you can save presets for these individual elements but they can get jumbled up with each other. 5. Effects sends - though less effects engines on the DDX - there were dedicated effects send busses - leaving 16 busses for general use. 6. Integration with an external recording device (NOT DAW remote control!)- the XUF interface is great but with the DDX you also had synced transport control plus marker points built in via a midi interface. If Midi not the way they want to go could this be implemented using OSC. 7. Which also brings me to Dynamic automation of mixdowns on the desk – OK this was limited to two versions at any time – but one the mix could be built up using these plus – a mix setting could be archived ( along with all other desk settings if required) for recall. This automation covered all parameters on the desk and even scene changes. OK on the DDX there were dedicated controls for this i.e. arming channels for recording and playback of automation - but there must me a software way of doing this either via the screen of say the xcontrol. This all tied in with the transport control - so that recording of automation and playback could be be from a marker point in the transport control. 8. Re scenes - there was also a fade time for scene changes that could be specified - maybe useful for some 9. Group function - Ok the X32 has DCA's - but the ability to group a number of faders ( not necessarily adjacent as with pairs) would be useful. 10. RE expansion cards - certainly a word clock to be incorporated in one would be good - plus adats in and out.
