X32 without expansion board?

Is there a way to tell, other than the pictures (which might not be current), whether this specific item includes the expansion board? I remember reading something (I think here) that the price on these boards went up over the initial offering, when they started including the expansion board as a standard item.

Amazon.com seems to have this mixer for several hundred below everyone else's rate, but I'm concerned it doesn't have the extra card.

Re: X32 without expansion board?

While other dealers may not like it, depends on if it was advertised or not (guessing no) and how much retail power Amazon has. For a company like Behringer, I'm guessing they're a top 5 customer and may rival MF or zzounds for them, so pulling it away from them wouldn't be as easy as it seems.

Bottom line, Amazon isn't going to lose their Behringer dealership; I'd be surprised if they even lose allocation on X32s.

The description says:
The Future is Here-Now!

X32 ships with the insanely powerful XUF FireWire/USB audio interface card pre-installed in the expansion slot right out-of-the-box! XUF provides lowlatency 24-bit audio interfacing with Mac or PC host computers in the form of 32 In x 32 Out channels and MIDI. It even transmits HUI and Mackie Control data along with the audio I/O, which provides convenient remote control of your DAW via the X32 group fader section controls. XUF is compatible with CoreAudio on Mac OS 10.5 and above, and high-performance ASIO drivers for Windows PC are downloadable from behringer.com.

Re: X32 without expansion board?

Someone is going to lose their dealership over advertising below MAP, unless they are not a dealer, in which case, no warranty.

I would strongly avoid buying from anyone violating dealer agreements, they won't be around long.

How come so many dealers on the US market advertize ficticious list prices? Are there no advertizing standards or other regulations that prevent this kind of practice?

Re: X32 without expansion board?

The list prices they advertise are not fictitious. Manufacturers specify both an MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) and a MAP (Minimum Advertised Price). The MSRP is usually considered the list price. In general the US, retailers can sell for any price they choose, but cannot advertise a price lower than the MAP. With Behringer, the MAP is typically about half of the MSRP and most of the dealers sell at or close to the MAP.

Often on Amazon, you will see items listed without a price showing but either a note to add it to your cart to see the price or a separate click to see the price. In these cases, they are selling below the MAP.
