XW 12a trade for microwedge 12 - apples to apples ?

I might be in a position to trade my Xw wedges to a local sound co for thier original rat microwedges... I hoping to trade my 12's for thier 15's (depending on condition , or $ required) - either way in your opinion is this a good trade? I'd like some real world opinions who have used both, I could read everything about them, but there is nothing "comparing" them. I do have the UX8800, so would I be able to use the MW presets on these wedges, or would they be out to lunch....
thanks all

I personally think the xw12a is a much better wedge all around. I've seen a lot of blown up mircowedges on the road, but never a toasted xw12a... Plus I think the x-array sounds better than the microwedge. Clearer, louder, and punchier.

As far as I know, the UX8800 presets are only for the EAW version of the Microwedge.
I like both wedges fine, the only reasons you might like the Microwedges is the ability to run them passive and cut down on amp channels, and a slight GBF advantage due to the coaxial design. If those aren't major factors for you then I would stay with the XW's.

On another note, this probably belongs in the varsity section.

I'm bias but...I have noticed that many companies still think they are smarter than the manufacturer and use their own BSP settings for their microwedges. We use huge amplifiers and push a lot of dB's out of our microwedges and have yet to have a failure. FWIW.

Same here. I get "you can turn the overall mix down" quite a lot.
