Re: Yamaha DSR versus DXR

I have both. The DSR's get noticebly louder and sound better doing it. I generally need far fewer cuts of the EQ when using DSR's as wedges.

Here's a real life example: recently did sound for a top 40 band doing a corporate Xmas party. 400 people in a room about 250' wide by about 75' deep. Stage was on the wide wall. As it got later and more drunkier (not me, the crowd) we started to turn up more and more . I only brought in a pair of QSC HPR18 for subs, and the DSR's had no problem keeping up. For the encore I actually popped the breakers on the subs, but the DSR's still kept up to this point. I presume we still had a bit of room left, as I saw no limit lights. Coverage for the dancefloor was good, not so much to the far sides obviously. It wasn't crucial to have the coverage in this case. I may have SMAART traces for both boxes, but they would have been taken in different rooms....maybe not so relevant for comparison.
