Yamaha P7000s

I need two cheap replacement amps for a pair of C-Audio sr707, and the Yamaha is the only "pro" amp within budget.

Anybody tried it?

System is a pair of fullrange dual 12"/5"/1" passive xo fullrange cabs, two wharfedale single 18" subs and a XTA dp224. Mostly background music and occationaly a dj.

I remember using a older one that looked similar to the P7000s, maybe it was called P5000. It was black, had the same speaker optimization circuitry, and would power four Turbosound 212 monitors night after night without problems at a venue I did a lot of shows in. If these new ones are anything similar in performance they should be more than enough for the task at hand.
 
I have 8 of them powering a low cost install I did a few years ago. They have been pounded on for sub duty in a r&b club and I haven't had a single call besides when the DJ thinks he can fix something. Also have the p5000s and p3000s on mid and high duty for the main pa. Just make sure the ys processing is turned off. It caused a bit of a headache after a DJ turned them on and then complained about how bad the system sounded.

i'v had one floating around in my rig for 5? years

it started out the house tops

now it's on a passive over single 18 sub
2way drum fill

it's never failed to do what i ask it too...

Its been a long time but I believe these amps don't have any clip,compression,clip limit protection circuits in them. I seem to remember that when the clip lights come on they crunch pretty hard. Again this has been awhile.
