Re: Yamaha Stage Mix 2.0 News You're welcome... if nothing else I can start an argument/ heated discussion... and Android is free to program in... if you're the one doing the programming. For a company such as Yamaha I would assume that they already have a few thousand employees capable of writing said program, and maybe even a couple hundred who have already started on their own. As for the phones... the nice thing about Android is you can run basic apps on either phone or tablet, the only difference is the amount of surface space used. For example I also use an ETC Ion... their app was designed for phones, and works great on my tablet. And while there are some low end models out there... ok a lot of low end models... wifi midi control is by no means hardware demanding... It works on my old ASUS UMPC just fine, and I'd wager the 900Mhz 256MB RAM, with a 30GB HD is far weaker than most anything you'll find today... and it runs Windows XP. Eh... sorry to run on about this. One of my friends works for Yamaha and he hears about it all the time. Most people local to me use either Windows or Android... and they all hate the catering that most programmers do to such a small portion of the market. On the plus side Stage Mix works great for those of us who can use it... between our LS9 and the occasional M7 we have to rent, our job is infinitely easier... we even finally got the back stage monitors eq'd. On a side note... someone mentioned variations of androids and fragmentation... if that was the problem... they why have programmers successfully created programs for generations of Windows PC's with little to no regard for the hardware configuration? Ok I'm done... for now
