Yamaha TF mixers - slow scene laods?

Hi folks,
I'm seeing scene loads of about 1.7 seconds on my TF-5. I'm using it for live music theater, and to me that seems like a really long time from button to scene change.
I can't imagine this is a technology problem - our light boards do pretty much the same things in real time (at least faster than I can measure). Its all digital, and pushing around some sliders... Am I missing something, or are the scene loads just really that slow?

I have that issue on a QL5, though not as drastic. I now have to hit cues slightly ahead of when I need channels to pop up. It's noticeably slower than our LS9 was at recall. Thought I was the only one...
