New Indian jamming studio, A Square, has installed an Allen & Heath GLD digital mixing system. Situated in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow, the studio is the first digital audio studio to be opened by company, Jam Pad, designed to provide teaching facilities for aspiring musicians and also acts as a hub for bands and musicians to meet and network.

The studio is based around a GLD-80 mixer along with the GLD-AR2412 audio rack, set up to enable live jamming and studio recording on DAW, using the mixer’s M-Dante card.

Mr. Saumyasheel, audio studio manager, says:

“I cannot imagine my studio without the GLD-80 mixer because it is the heart of A Square. Due to the huge number of inputs in this mixer, I can include a number of instruments and vocalists. I use the copy and paste function to arrive at a basic channel setting and experiment with the GLD’s ‘ganging’ function, which makes it very easy to link up channels in any combination, not just adjacent pairs. As I expected from Allen & Heath, it is a complete package.”

Audio was integrated in the studio through distributor, Sun Infonet. Product specialist, Mr. Shailesh Awasthi, commented:

“It’s the first of its kind in Uttar Pradesh and it’s made by people who know the nitty-gritty of the music business. Having jammed at A Square, I can say that the sound is great and bands can rehearse with the feel of live sound and do recording as well.”
